Career-Transfer Fair Set at WVNCC

“Explore Your Potential: 2014 Career & Transfer Fair” will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at West Virginia Northern Community College on the downtown Wheeling campus.

The event, free and open to the public, will be conducted in the multi-purpose room at the WVNCC Education Center building, and is intended to connect spring graduates with area employers and to provide information to students who want to transfer to a four-year institution to continue their education.

To date, 32 participants have registered to attend to provide information and interaction with students.

Employers include AT&T, Northwood Health Systems, Visiting Angels, West Virginia State Police, Williams Lea, H&R Block, Brooke Place-Family Connections, Horseshoe Leadership Center, Wheeling Island Hotel, Casino, and Racetrack, American National Family of Companies, State of West Virginia Employment Service/Workforce WV, Right At Home, Maxim Healthcare Services, Good Shepherd Nursing Home and The Lewis Financial Group LLC.

Attending institutions include West Liberty University, Bethany College, West Virginia University, Wheeling Jesuit University, Ohio University Eastern, Marshall University, Franciscan University of Steubenville, Alderson Broaddus University, Fairmont State University, College Foundation of West Virginia, University of Charleston and Marietta College.

It is recommended that those seeking employment dress professionally and bring plenty of resume copies. Transfer students are encouraged to bring unofficial copies of their transcripts.
