Weirton Campus Knitting Class Being Offered

Posted 03/05/13

A Beginner Knitting Class will be offered at the Weirton campus of West Virginia Northern Community College from 4-5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, March 21-May 2.

Instructor Diane Stewart said this class will present the basics needed to launch students into creating beautiful hand knits. Students will learn to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, increase, decrease, read basic patterns and choose appropriate yarn.

Stewart added a variety of knitting tools and their uses will be introduced. Students can work on one of the suggested projects or an appropriate beginner project of their choice. Supplies needed include size US 8(5mm) knitting needles and one skein of smooth (not fuzzy), light colored, worsted weight yarn. Additional yarn and needles may be needed depending on project choice.

Call the Weirton campus at 304-723-2210 for further information or to sign up for the class.
