WVNCC opens new Business and Entrepreneurship Center
Posted 04/02/25
West Virginia Northern Community College (WVNCC) is proud to announce the opening of its new Business & Entrepreneurship Center, a hands-on learning lab that provides students with real-world business experience. Located on the second floor of the historic B&O Building on the Wheeling Campus, the center is run by students in the entrepreneurship class as part of their capstone project.
The Business & Entrepreneurship Center operates as a student-run apparel business, offering t-shirts, sweatshirts, tumblers, and more. Students manage every aspect of the business, from planning and marketing to budgeting, sales, and financial tracking. All products are printed and embroidered in-house, giving students direct experience in production and business operations.
“This center exemplifies the hands-on, career-focused education that WVNCC is known for,” said WVNCC President Dr. Daniel Mosser. “By integrating classroom learning with real-world application, our students gain invaluable skills that will set them apart in the workforce.”
The center is supported by the WVNCC Foundation and provides a dynamic environment where students in the Business program can develop critical entrepreneurial skills. The program offers an Associate Degree in Business Administration, equipping students with the knowledge and experience needed to succeed in various business careers.
“The Business & Entrepreneurship Center is a game-changer for our students,” said Lyndsie Scott-Guzek, WVNCC Business Program Director. “They aren’t just learning about business—they are running one. This experience gives them a competitive edge and prepares them for successful careers in entrepreneurship, small business management, and business administration.”
