West Virginia Northern Community College (WVNCC) is hosting an informational event, “Start Here”, on its Weirton Campus to assist students from Eastern Gateway Community College (EGCC) who recently were informed of a “pause in registration” for the upcoming summer and fall semesters. This event will be held on Wednesday, February 28, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at WVNCC's Weirton Campus.

During the event, WVNCC staff will help address concerns, provide guidance, and offer support to EGCC students, or any prospective Northern student, navigating college application and course registration processes, as well as those seeking answers to questions about their federal and state financial aid or Northern scholarships.

"We are committed to ensuring that all students have access to a college education and that they experience success along the way,” commented WVNCC President Dr. Daniel Mosser. “This news has interrupted the educational journey of thousands of EGCC students. Our hearts go out to them as well as to impacted college employees. We understand the challenges that community college students are facing, and we are here to help these students reach their career and educational goals – in a timely and affordable manner. Our ‘Start Here’ event will help ease the transition and provide students with the necessary resources to seamlessly continue their journey at Northern.”

For those interested in attending the event or seeking more information, please contact WVNCC at advising@wvncc.edu or call 304-214-8832.
